Charlie Walden
Owner and Founder

As the founder of Walden Construction in 1977 and subsequently Walden Structures, Inc. twenty years later, Charlie Walden has been applying his visionary leadership in the modular industry for over 30 years. A veteran of the Navy, Charlie also worked in his family business before starting his own career in the modular industry. He started Walden Construction in Phoenix, AZ and relocated to California three years later.

Charlie has been fortunate to be involved in many “leading edge” projects. Walden Construction erected numerous multi-story modular buildings and constructed the first three story modular building in the western United States. Charlie attributes his success to a team approach with customers, his company’s personnel, and vendors. He has built his business with an unwavering integrity and welcomes responsibility and accountability.

Charlie has not only aggressive goals for his company, but the entire modular industry. He believes by continuously improving the product, expanding the core competencies of his business, and exceeding each customer’s expectations, he will fulfill the words of his motto "These ain't trailers anymore."

Mick Duva

Nicholas R. Duva
Chief Executive Officer

During the last 20 years, Nick has been the CEO or COO of 10 different companies. His expertise is guiding companies through turbulent economic and/or financial conditions. Simultaneously, he improves systems and procedures to produce higher quality products, while reducing costs and improving cash flow. He adapts out-of-industry approaches to achieve success.

Nick started his career as a Project Manager in the United States Air Force Systems Command working with Titan III missiles and F-15 aircraft. He earned Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Systems Management during that timeframe. He worked in the aerospace industry and the financial services industry before entering the turnaround business, which produced the leadership positions mentioned above.

Roger McCoy

Roger McCoy
Vice President, Sales and Major Programs

With nearly 25 years experience in the Construction and Mechanical industries, Roger has developed and utilized the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a national sales effort, while maintaining an exceptional level of customer service. Prior to Walden, Roger held senior level positions, including VP-Treasurer of a $250 million home builder, as well as Chief Information Officer of a $1 billion Mechanical Contractor. He was National Brand Manager and subsequently Sales Manager for a $500 million Mechanical Contractor.

Roger has also been the owner of 3 contracting companies. He is dedicated to bringing the highest quality product and service to his customers in the modular building industry. Roger holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration and is a U.S. Army veteran.

Michael Dominici

Michael J. Dominici
Chief Financial Officer

Michael Dominici joined the Walden team 2 years ago as CFO. He has 13 years of extensive accounting experience with significant time in public companies. Michael’s skills include accounting/finance integration of several acquisitions, geographically diverse management responsibilities, and participation as functional expert in two worldwide financial/ERP system implementations. Michael has the rare ability to not only report the numbers, but relay to his peers what they mean and their implication to the company’s future performance.

Michael’s career has been in manufacturing companies, ranging from semiconductor to biotechnology.  He is able to apply his experience from a large range of individual products to the subsystem level of modular buildings. His vast experience with auditors in the public arena enhances his ability to work with outside auditors to generate audited financial statements. Michael’s communication skills allow bankers to feel confident that they are receiving reliable information. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration.

Jose Aguilar

Jose Aguilar
Estimator/Project Manager

Starting his career with Walden 1998, Jose has had the opportunity
to gain knowledge of the different phases pertaining to the modular building industry. He has held positions in materials management as well as the marketing department, and his diversified experience now includes materials, purchasing, sales, and estimating.  Prior to joining Walden Structures, Jose was Purchasing Agent and Warehouse Manager at Westinghouse Electric and Cutler-Hammer.

Ruben Soto

Ruben Soto
Director of Quality

Prior to joining Walden Structures, Ruben served three years in the Modular Construction industry as a Production Manager and Quality Manager, capitalizing on his previous experience in the Automotive Industry to implement process improvements. Throughout his ten year tenure at General Motors Corp, Ruben held a variety of leadership positions in Maintenance, Production, Materials, and Quality which ultimately culminated in his promotion to a Plant Superintendent. During that time, Ruben also earned his Certified Quality Engineer certification from the American Society for Quality. Ruben is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and completed 8 years of active military service as a U.S. Naval Officer before pursuing a position in industry.

Frank Carillo

Frank Carrillo
Estimator/Project Manager

Frank joined the Walden team in sales/estimating in 2009 bringing more than 10 years experience in the construction industry and over 3 of those years spent in the commercial modular industry. He has revealed a track record of success in Sales, Job Costing, Project Planning and Management. Frank began his career in the commercial development field in 1998 and later transitioned to modular construction. He has held positions as a senior estimator, project manager and buyer which have allowed him to see projects thru from conception to completion.

George Avila

George Avila
Estimator/Project Manager

With over 10 years experience in the modular building industry, George started his evolution in 1994 within engineering as a CAD operator. In 1999, he briefly left the industry to join Law Steel as a detailer, creating fabrication drawings for structural steel elements of commercial and residential structures. Late 2000, he returned to the industry in an Engineering Management position. George joined Walden Structures in 2001 as Assistant Engineering Manager and later took on the role of Project Manager. In 2004, he transitioned from Project Manager to estimating in the Sales/Estimating department.

Jim Tithof

Jim Tithof
Director of Manufacturing

Jim has a unique perspective of the modular building industry since his expertise includes 11 years in site installation of commercial buildings, and 14 years in manufacturing management. He has held positions as Production Manager, Plant Manager and General Manager in California, Texas, and Arizona. Since joining Walden in May of 2008, Jim has been leading the production management teams in both the Riverside and Mentone facilities. His direction emphasizes team building and development of an efficient and quality minded production staff to support Walden’s goal to provide the highest quality product in the industry. With 25 years experience and LEAN training under his belt, Jim is well positioned to ensure that Walden’s buildings fulfill the customer’s needs.

Kevin Lord

Kevin Lord
Director of Engineering & Service

Kevin brings more than two decades of experience in Manufactured Housing, Factory Built Housing, and the Commercial Modular Industry. His wide range of manufacturing experience includes quality control, production, design, engineering, site development, costing analysis, and purchasing. He has a proven track record with several large and successful companies, and for the past 9 years has been experiencing that success at Walden. Kevin has collaborated on projects as small as a 24 sq ft Guard Shack to a 54,000 sq ft single story building, as well as two, three and four story buildings. His proficiency includes board and computer aided drafting of commercial, institutional, industrial and residential projects, as well as an exhaustive knowledge of building codes and standards. In his role as Director of Engineering & Service at Walden, Kevin manages a team of 3 engineers and 6 draftsmen. He is responsible for interfacing with plan approval agencies from different states, various engineers, jurisdictional representatives, and state regulatory agencies. Kevin also participates in the bidding process to ensure compliance to building code requirements, specifications, and meeting the customer’s needs.

Rod Lambert
Engineering Manager

Rod joined Walden in 2004 with 15 years experience in the field of engineering, 13 of which have been in the modular building industry. Rod is responsible for project development, plan checking and agency approval of commercial and military projects. During his time at Walden, he has been accountable for many custom projects, including multi-level buildings, medical buildings, and military training facilities. Prior to joining Walden, Rod was a structural drafter at Bonaldo Engineering where he spent 2 years drafting commercial and residential projects. It was shortly after, in 1996 that he entered the modular building industry as a draftsman. Rod moved up to a senior draftsman position where he was responsible for the development of drawings, assembling multiple structural packages for custom projects, and agency approval of both commercial and educational buildings. In 2000 he was promoted to Engineering Manager and was responsible for all aspects of the engineering department, to include design, plan checking, and agency approval for all projects.

Gerardo Rios

Gerardo Rios
Production Manager

Gerardo Rios has had a wide variety of progressive positions at Walden Structures.  He started on the production line, and quickly became a production supervisor.  To better utilize his talents he moved into inventory control specialist/materials manager, followed by purchasing agent.  As production manager he currently utilizes his well rounded experience to build to the highest quality and in the most efficient way to meet the needs of Walden customers.  Gerardo holds a BS degree from California Baptist University.

Jeremy Brown

Jeremy Brown
Engineering Manager

Jeremy joined Walden in 2002 and brings with him 10 years of engineering experience all in the Modular Building Industry. While at Walden he had started as a draftsman responsible for completing detailed drawings ranging from Educational and Commercial Buildings. In 2004, Jeremy had advanced into the position of Engineering Manager for Military MOUT Facilities ranging from Container technologies to single and multistory Modular Training Facilities. He now supervises the Engineering department for the Mentone Facility.

Candace Juhnke
Purchasing Manager

Candace brings more than 10 years experience in the modular building industry. She joined the Walden Structures sales/estimating team in 2005. Through her demonstrated versatility, she became Purchasing Manager in 2006. Candace began her career as commercial project estimator in 1999. In 2000, she shifted to estimating educational projects, and it was not long afterwards that she was promoted to estimating supervisor for the educational projects. Candace’s proficiency prior to joining Walden has also included a position as Lean Enterprises Consultant where she was responsible for applying process analysis tools to all aspects of the manufacturing process, from proposal to completion, with particular emphasis on purchasing, production, and field installation. Candace holds a BA degree from Briar Cliff College in Iowa and has completed some graduate work at Arizona State University.

Kevin Juhnke

Kevin Juhnke
Engineering Manager

Since 2005, Kevin has been working with the Walden team on single and multi-story commercial modular buildings. Kevin’s experience in engineering combines 15 years of modular industry experience as well as 3 years of structural steel detailing experience. His career began in 1987 with the Sioux Foundry in Iowa as structural steel detailer for office buildings, prisons, and shopping centers. In 1990, Kevin moved to Arizona where he became a designer of ocean cargo containers for office and military use. He later gravitated to steel frame classrooms and office buildings and held the position of senior design technician, working on projects ranging in size from 1,400 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft. Kevin moved to California in 1999 and took on an Engineering Manager position for commercial buildings.

Scott Wade

Scott Wade
Plant Manager - Mentone Facility

Scott brings to Walden Structures over 20 years of manufacturing experience - 10 years in modular manufacturing and 10 years in construction. He has engineered and produced high quality, on-time buildings for a variety of markets: Commercial, Residential, Educational, Parks and Recreation, as well as "man camps" for drilling sites. Scott also brings to Walden an extensive background in producing structures that must meet the needs of extreme environmental conditions and building code requirements throughout the world, including Alaska, Canada, Iraq, Mexico, and across the United States.

Scott has directed and managed Production, Quality Control, Safety, and Engineering departments utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts, and places heavy importance on the necessity of effective teamwork. In each position that Scott has held throughout his career, he has seen significant improvements in efficiency and has successfully implemented changes to the manufacturing environment and culture.

John Brazil

John Brazil
Sales Manager

John Brazil has been in the Construction Industry since 1969, and has served over 20 years as a CEO for two individual firms. Throughout the years, he has also owned and managed several highly successful construction companies that specialized in custom homes and commercial buildings. John holds C39 (roofing) and B (building) contractor's licenses in the state of California, and is OSHA certified.

As Sales Manager for Walden Structures Inc., John is committed to building and enhancing Walden-Client relationships and ensuring continued client satisfaction by supplying complete, accurate, and on-time quotes. He brings to Walden Structures the ability to estimate modular projects of varying complexities, including conceptual design build estimates and hard bids from approved plans. John is not only comfortable in overseeing scope analysis, RFIs, escalation projections, and value engineering, but also in conducting sub-contractor scope evaluations, change order estimates, job walks, and support to the design department. He excels in collaborating with a variety of teams, from sales and design to project management, dealers, and end users, creating a seamless environment for customer satisfaction from RFQ to project completion. John is excited to be a part of a winning team that provides the highest quality modular structures in the industry today. It is his goal to work closely with all of our clients to help them fully benefit from the quality and value that the Walden Structures' products provide.
